I want to be clear about my policy on monetisation with readers of this blog and fellow professionals who trust me.
I earn money in many direct and indirect ways from this blog, including…
- public speaking honorarium
- referral fees from affiliate programs, meaning I get a commission anytime someone purchases the products I recommend, including every book on the 2020 IT Leader recommended reading list
- selling my own services such as private consulting, coaching, etc.
- selling my own products, etc.
Recommendations & Affiliate Programs
Within this website I’ll mention various products that I use. Sometimes I’ll provide links to those products and in some cases those links will be affiliate links. This means that if you purchase that product via my link, I’ll receive a payment from the product manufacturer.
It doesn’t cost you any more to buy the product via my affiliate link. And, I won’t recommend products that I don’t believe in myself.
In most cases I’ll recommend products or courses that I use myself. I’ll usually review them or mention them in the course of an article, and provide a link to them.
In some cases I’ll mention a product that I don’t personally use, but I still think is a good product and will be of interest to some of my readers. In these cases, I’ve usually used a demo version of the product to learn about it.
Importantly, I won’t recommend any products that I don’t have direct experience with and if I find that a product I recommended is not satisfactory, I’ll post an update on this blog.
